Illinois State Trooper Killed By Truck.

It is always tragic when someone dies in a car accident.  It is especially sad when a law enforcement officer dies in the line of duty trying to help others.  James Sauter, a 28 year old Illinois State trooper, was killed last week on I-294.  He had just finished helping another motorist when his idling cruiser was struck by a semi-tractor trailer near Willow Road.  According to reports, the truck left no skid marks and pushed the squad car 300 yards.   The driver of the truck was not killed in the crash.  For more information on the crash and Trooper Sauter’s life, click here.
