Another Unfortunate School Bus Accident.

This morning, a school bus carrying 35 children was knocked on its side in a collision in Lake County near the Wisconsin border.  According to Chicago Breaking News, The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. in the area of Route 173 and Kilbourne Road in Newport Township. http://www.chicagotribune.com.  The bus was on its side and a wrecked SUV was nearby.  Unfortunately, the driver of the SUV did not survive, according to reports.

As parents, we are not always able to personally drive our children to school.  Work, home, and other commitments force us to put all of our faith and trust in individuals that we do not know, hoping that our precious children will be dropped off at school safe and sound.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, school buses are the safest form of transportation for getting children back and forth to school.   Additionally, according to the American School Bus Council, school buses are designed to be safer than passenger vehicles in avoiding crashes and preventing injury. http://www.trafficsafetymarketing.gov.
