Another Unfortunate School Bus Accident.

This morning, a school bus carrying 35 children was knocked on its side in a collision in Lake County near the Wisconsin border.  According to Chicago Breaking News, The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. in the area of Route 173 and Kilbourne Road in Newport Township.  The bus was on its side and a wrecked SUV was nearby.  Unfortunately, the driver of the SUV did not survive, according to reports.

As parents, we are not always able to personally drive our children to school.  Work, home, and other commitments force us to put all of our faith and trust in individuals that we do not know, hoping that our precious children will be dropped off at school safe and sound.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, school buses are the safest form of transportation for getting children back and forth to school.   Additionally, according to the American School Bus Council, school buses are designed to be safer than passenger vehicles in avoiding crashes and preventing injury.

However, accidents still happen.  Whether the accident is the fault of the school bus driver or another vehicle, if your child is injured due to the negligence of someone else, they may be entitled to compensation.  The experienced accident attorneys at DeBlasio & Gower, LLC help individuals who are injured in car accidents through no fault of their own.  If you or your child were hurt in an accident contact our office today to discuss your case.  Call us at (630) 560-1123 or visit our website at We are here to help.
